Eligibility
Marriage Registration Process in Delhi
1. Eligibility Criteria
2. The bride must be at least 18 years old, and the groom must be 21 years old.
3. The couple must not be related under the prohibited degrees of relationship unless customs allow.
4. If either party was previously married, proof of divorce/death of a spouse is required.
* Documents Required
For Hindu Marriage Act Registration:
1. Application Form duly signed by both spouses.
2. Identity Proof (Aadhar Card, Passport, PAN Card, etc.) of both spouses.
3. Age Proof (Birth Certificate/10th Marksheet/Passport).
4. Address Proof (Aadhar Card, Voter ID, Driving License, Passport).
5. Marriage Invitation Card (if available).
6. Affidavit declaring marriage details.
7. Two passport-size photographs of both spouses.
8. Marriage photographs (at least one showing the couple in wedding attire).
9. Wedding certificate (issued by the priest or temple where the marriage took place).
10. Two witnesses (with their identity and address proofs).
For Special Marriage Act Registration:
1. Notice of Intended Marriage filed before the Marriage Registrar.
2. Identity Proof & Address Proof of both parties.
3. Age Proof of both parties.
4. Affidavit stating marital status and nationality.
5. Passport-size photographs of both spouses.
6. Divorce decree/death certificate (if applicable).
7. Three witnesses (with identity proof).
